MoCEP Joins Coalition to Tackle Opioid Overdoses

POSTED IN: Advocacy, Featured Advocacy,

The current epidemic of opioid addiction and overdose is one of the many issues that MoCEP is working to improve.  While Missouri remains the only state not to have a prescription drug monitoring program, MoCEP continues to lobby our state senators and representatives to pass the needed legislation to create a program in Missouri.  While a prescription drug monitoring program is important, it is only one part of the strategy to combat opioid abuse and addiction.  MoCEP has also been pushing for increasing access to naloxone as well as for legislation that helps improve the care of these patients. To that end, MoCEP recently joined a coalition urging the National Governors Association to help us and our patients.
