Residents Corner

On July 10th, MOCEP and EMRA combined forces to host our first St. Louis joint networking event at Brennan’s in the Central West End. Generous contributions from both organizations made this event possible. We hosted well over fifty guests from Washington University, Saint Louis University, University of Missouri, MOCEP/EMRA leadership and staff. It was a good mix of board members, faculty, residents and students. Our goals for this event was to recruit new members, educate and increase awareness of MoCEP and EMRA objectives for the upcoming academic year. We were lucky to have Dr. Douglas Char and Dr. Matt Rudy, respective Presidents of each organization as speakers. It was great to see so many residents and students present and we definitely sparked some new interest. I overheard numerous conversations about the latest policies and bills that impact the emergency medicine profession and multiple inquisitions about how to be more involved. Overall, it was a successful evening — A fantastic crowd coming together over delicious food and drinks, fueling collaboration towards common goals for much longer than just one evening. A special thank-you to Cecile Landrum and Dr. Sean Cavanaugh for their efforts in making it such an enjoyable event!
