ACEP President-Elect Resigns

POSTED IN: Forum Topic,

As you may have heard, ACEP President-Elect, John Rogers, MD, FACEP, resigned his position Tuesday evening.

Dr. Rogers, who has been practicing emergency medicine for more than 30 years, was elected last year as ACEP’s President-Elect.

He shared his experience that his board certification had become a distraction to effectively serve ACEP. He said he did not want this issue to decrease ACEP’s effectiveness in advocating for our specialty.

In accordance with the College Bylaws, https://www.acep.org/what-we-believe/bylaws. (See Article X – Officers/Executive Director, Section 4.2 – President-Elect.), the Board and Council Officers will elect an interim President-Elect on Thursday, June 28.
