Gaddis Receives IFEM Award
Gary Gaddis MD, PhD, was honored in June 2018 with the Order of the IFEM award by the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM) at their 2018 International Congress in Mexico City. This award is presented to a member of an IFEM member organization who has demonstrated an extensive and continuous commitment to the specialty of emergency medicine in their own country and has made significant contributions to supporting the development and advancement of the IFEM. Dr. Gaddis, one other American physician and three emergency physicians from other nations received this award for 2018. Dr. Gaddis is a professor of Emergency Medicine at the Washington University School of Medicine, and a MOCEP member.
Heidt Receives MHA Award
Jonathan Heidt, MD, MHA, FACEP, will receive the Missouri Hospital Association’s 2018 Health Policy Leadership Award. This award recognizes those who have played a leadership role in forging governmental policies that improve the ability of the health care system to operate efficiently and effectively. The award will be presented to Dr. Heidt at the MHA’s Annual Convention on Nov. 8. Dr. Heidt is an assistant professor of clinical emergency medicine at the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Medicine, and the immediate past president of MOCEP.
Noelker Receives ACEP Award
Joan Noelker, MD, received the ACEP National Emergency Medicine Junior Faculty Teaching Award at the 2018 President’s Gala in San Diego. This is a national faculty teaching award to honor outstanding educators in emergency medicine. This award is designated to support emergency medicine faculty in their efforts to achieve academic advancement, as well as support the continued academic development of the specialty. The award recognizes superior teaching activities including didactic lectures, clinical instruction, the development of innovative educational programs, community education, and contributions to regional and global programs. Dr. Noelker is a clinical instructor of emergency medicine at Washington University School of Medicine, and a MOCEP member.
