For several years, MOCEP has proudly sponsored the “Battle of the Belt” campaign, a safety program to encourage high school students to wear their seat belts. The campaign recently changed its name and expanded the program to a yearlong initiative. MOCEP is proud to continue our support for the “It Only Takes One” campaign.
The “It Only Takes One” campaign is a competition between Missouri high schools which provides an opportunity for student groups to educate teens, parents and the community about the dangers teens face while driving. It’s important that teen drivers realize it only takes ONE text, ONE drink, ONE call, ONE reach, ONE distraction to cause ONE fatal moment but that ONE clicked seat belt could be the difference between life or death in a car crash.
The competition includes educational campaigns, surprise seat belt surveys, and the creation of a public service announcement.
Registration for the It Only Takes One campaign begins September 1st. For more information on how to start the It Only Takes One campaign in your school, contact Kacey Buschjost at 573-751-5413 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
