At its October 2012 meeting in Denver, the Emergency Medicine Residents Association (EMRA) elected new members to the Board of Directors. Matthew Rudy, MD (Washington University) became Speaker of the EMRA Council. Sarah Hoper MD, JD (Washington University) was elected as Legislative Advisor. Kene Chukwuanu, MD (St Louis University) was appointed Membership Development Coordinator. Jonathan Heidt, MD (Washington University) remains on the board through the first half of 2013 as RRC- Resident Representative. A third of the EMRA board now calls Missouri “home”.
EMRA was founded in 1974 and today has a membership of more than 10,000 residents, medical students, and alumni. The mission of EMRA is to be the voice of emergency medicine physicians-in-training and the future of our specialty. Clearly the interest of EM residents and medical students in Missouri is well represented. Each of the 3 EM residencies in the state also elected a program representative to the EMRA Council.
