It is our privilege to address the college as the leaders of the Missouri College of Emergency Physicians Student Council. Establishing this new council within MOCEP has been a great experience and we appreciate how welcome we have felt.

We are excited for what the future holds as we strive to increase communication, provide students a voice, and help maximize the organization’s impact on student academics. In alignment with these goals, we have been working with the leaders of MOCEP as they plan the upcoming student symposium. This virtual event will provide an opportunity for medical students in Missouri to expand their interest and network within the emergency medicine community. For this reason, we strongly encourage all medical students to attend, as well as residency programs to provide information to future applicants.

Additionally, we have been discussing the structure of our council and how to expand leadership to accomplish our goals more effectively. We will be communicating with our medical school liaisons in the near future about opportunities for involvement within MOCEP, with the application process occurring early 2021. 

Again, we the Medical Student Council, appreciate being embraced by the community and welcome any and all input to help better the future success of the organization.
