MOCEP wants to recognize our members for their outstanding efforts in emergency medicine, but we need your help. Nominate your peers that go above and beyond for your emergency department, residency program or your community. Here’s a list of awards in which we are seeking nominations.

MOCEP Lifetime Achievement Award

This award seeks to recognize a member of the emergency medicine profession who has devoted his or her professional life to the improvement of the field. The deadline to submit a nomination is February 15.

Criteria for the award include:

• MOCEP Member (view membership status with the online directory)
• Practicing or retired emergency physician
• Have been active in MOCEP during their career (board activity not required). Current board members are not eligible.
• Must have practiced EM for at least 25 years

RR Hannas Physician and Resident of the Year Awards

The R. R. Hannas awards are named after Dr. Ralston R. Hannas, a “founding father” of Emergency Medicine. This annual award recognizes both a Missouri emergency medicine physician and a resident in a Missouri emergency medicine residency program.

It’s presented to those who best exemplify the spirit, skill, and dedication of America’s emergency physicians. Physician board members are not eligible for the award (resident board members are eligible). Attributes which may be considered include:

 

• Compassionate patient care with high levels of patient satisfaction
• Community Service
• Collaboration with nurses, EMT’s, and ancillary hospital staff
• Advancement of emergency medicine through teaching, involvement in hospital activities or organized medicine
