MOCEP held elections at the Annual General Membership Meeting on  May 27. We had several board members re-elected for another term and a councilor that was re-elected after taking a year off from serving in this role. Those members are:

Board of Directors:

• Douglas Char, MD, FACEP – St. Louis
• Robert Poirier, MD, MBA, FACEP – St. Louis
• Evan Schwarz, MD, FACEP, FACMT – St. Louis
• Christopher Sampson, MD, FACEP – Columbia

Councilor:

• Robert Poirier, MD, MBA, FACEP – St. Louis

A new board member was elected to fill the seat of John Owen, MD, FACEP, who did not seek re-election. We appreciate the six years that Dr. Owen was involved in the MOCEP Board of Directors!

Our new board member is Kevin O’Rourke, MD, FACEP. Dr. O’Rourke is Association Professor of Emergency Medicine, Associate Program Director TMC/UMKC Emergency Medicine Residency, and Director of Clinical Operations at Truman Medical Center Emergency Department. Dr. O’Rourke was Assistant Program Director and New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn from2012 to 2014, and Associate Director of Emergency Ultrasound at New York Methodist Hospital from 2011-201s. Dr. O’Rourke has been active on several MOCEP committees for many years and we welcome him to the board!
