W. Kendall McNabney, MD, passed away in late August. Dr McNabney was known by many in Missouri for his dedication to emergency medicine. He was a long-time physician of Truman Medical Center where he was highly regarded for his more than 30 years in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Surgery. Dr. McNabney established one of the first Emergency Medicine Residency programs in the country in 1973 at Kansas City General Hospital, which is now Truman Medical Center. He served as the program director from 1973-1984 and as Chair of Emergency Health Services from 1972-1986.
