As we continue the battle against COVID, it’s important that we not forget our annual advocacy efforts. MOCEP has transitioned the annual Advocacy Day to a Virtual Advocacy Week. We will have a kick-off event on Monday, March 8 at 9:00 a.m. with a highlight of the issues and tips for virtual advocating.

This is an important year for our members with COVID liability protections still hanging in the balance, and language to prevent the insurance companies from downcoding physician reimbursement. We need your help to get the word out about these important issues.

What does a Virtual Advocacy Week look like, you ask? It’s simple, once you register for this free event you will be directed to a link with all the materials you need to advocate on our 2021 issues. Please download and save the handouts provided, then reach out to your legislator in the way you are most comfortable, by phone, via email, or schedule a socially distanced meet-up while your legislator is home for the weekend. If you are part of a residency program or EMIG, call the legislative aid for your legislators and ask them for a time in which you can hold a Zoom meeting with the legislators. The most important part of this week is that you reach out, plus you have an entire week in which to do it, and no travel is required!
